General Information

At Little Harbor Window Company, we use the latest technology
to construct our custom shaped windows and doors.
We begin by designing the units using Autodesk Inventor Solid
Modeling software. This allows us to print full size shop
drawings to give our customers a comprehensive set of
information to guide them through the decision making process.
The frames on radius windows are generally laminated. We use
the Inventor software to print a template that allows us to make
a form for the shape and then glue the laminates using a Type 1
PVA adhesive. We cut the laminates on our resaw and sand
them to the proper thickness to reduce spring back and
delaminating.
The sash are typically made from solid stock by gluing solid
splines to join the pieces together. We then have the option to
use shapers and hand held routers or to use our SCMI CNC
Router. The large CNC Router has great flexibility, but some
small projects are better suited to traditional tools and methods.
We build these units to match any of our other standard
windows, whether double-hung, casement or door type, the
frames can be made to match any adjacent windows.(Please see
accompanying drawings). This offers our customers unlimited
flexibility and gives the project a seamless look.
Little Harbor Window Company has developed an outstanding
reputation of meeting the criteria of different historic district
committees. Our in-house profile and tooling facility promotes
quick turn-around and precise duplication when working on
historic restoration projects.
